Leticia Hernandez

FARMS Alumni and Internship Manager

Leticia Hernandez is a Salinas native, wife, mom, volunteer, community gardener, advocate, and educator. She began working for the Center for Land-Based Learning in 2018 as the Santa Cruz & Monterey Counties FARMS Program Coordinator. In that position, she witnessed the impact the FARMS program has on the Central Coast. In 2022, Leticia accepted the role of statewide FARMS Alumni and Internship Manager. Her passion for education, urban agriculture, and health for youth drives her work. Leticia serves the Salinas community through her work as a resident advisor on the Alisal Vibrancy Implementation Committee, the Food Policy Council for Monterey County and serves on the Traffic and Transportation Commission for the City of Salinas. She is also the founder of the Local Urban Gardeners and the Community Garden and Learning Lab at Natividad Creek Park in Salinas, California, for which she has been a steward for the past six years. In her offtime, Leticia enjoys gardening and spending time with her family.
