The UC Davis Student Collaborative Organic Plant Breeding Education (SCOPE) project works with local organic growers on improving crop varieties for organic farming systems in California. Using traditional, field-based plant breeding methods, new varieties of tomatoes, wheat, spinach, celtuce, and zinnias are being developed on certified organic land at the Student Farm at UC Davis.

Mobile Farmers Market

Our Mobile Farmers Market trucks bring fresh, local, sustainably-grown produce to food insecure neighborhoods throughout Yolo County, and this year we’re expanding to Sacramento!

The Mobile Farmers Market provides an innovative marketplace for small and beginning farms and connects consumers with the people who grow their food. By growing crops that are culturally relevant to our diverse communities, paying farmers a fair price, and fostering community involvement, we promote a healthier food system that is equitable and resilient.

To better serve low-income customers, we accept SNAP/EBT (food stamps) and offer a 50% discount through Market Match.
