This internship has helped me connect with people in my community that I never would have thought of. Like I never would have imagined all the things people do to keep our community safe and protected and I learned about people who do this because of this internship.
I no longer feel like it’s necessary to shut myself off from people so I don’t get disappointed. I also know how and when is the appropriate time to advocate for myself and the people around me. And lastly I’m no longer afraid to put myself out there in the open.
