Walnut Mulch Information
Walnut Mulch
is the by-product of local walnut processing, which happens just down Putah Creek Road at Dixon Ridge Farms, the largest organic walnut processor in California. The mulch product is actually the walnut shell, in small pieces, that has been cracked off of the walnut. Walnut mulch is a good choice for landscaping and general garden mulching because of its unique qualities;
- Walnut Mulch decomposes very slowly, unlike most other mulches, many of which last less than a year.
- Walnut mulch will last several years, all the while maintaining original mulch characteristics with little color fading.
- Walnut mulch absorbs very little water and nutrients, insuring that your plants get what they need.
- Walnut mulch will also “stay put” in strong winds, which reduces the time needed for unwanted material movement and clean up.
- Walnut Mulch does not have any negative effect on plant growth and will not harm your soil.
